50/50 Even Split Procedure

50/50 Draw Procedures

All Trailrider teams are required to sell 50/50 tickets when they host a home game at the Cheticamp Arena to support Cheticamp Minor Hockey. Coaches/Managers are asked to ensure that two persons are always involved as per proper money handling procedures.

1.     Supplies of tickets and two buckets will be left in the small grey filing cabinet in the arena office, and will re-stocked regularly by the executive.

2.    Teams will determine the rotation of parents to sell 50/50 tickets.

3.    Usually during the 2nd period of the game, two parents will sell tickets to arena patrons at $2 for 3 tickets, and $5 for 15 tickets.

4.    To make the selling process run smoothly, parents may want to prepare tickets in one bucket ahead of 2nd period by pre- ripping groups of 3 and 15 tickets. The 15 ticket groups can be folded and secured with small elastics also provided in the filing cabinet.

5.    Starting floats are not provided so parents will need to make change as they go. The Canteen is willing to provide change for large bills if required.

6.    After selling tickets to each patron, the matching draw tickets can be placed in the second bucket.

7.    After ticket selling is finished, it is advised to count the monies in the arena office away from the public. Divide the collected funds evenly into two envelopes (found on the shelf near the cabinet) labelling each with the amounts inside. One envelope is for Trairiders, the other for the winner.

8.    It is recommended to pick a parent, child or visitor with the opposing team to make the draw.

9.    Announce the ticket number and prize amount in the stands, and upstairs also, even if you find the winner right away.  It is important to ensure the buyers are aware the draw has taken place and is over.

10. Give the winner the prize envelope and record their name, and phone number on the Trailrider envelope. The winning ticket and its match should be placed in the trailrider envelope.
11. Return the Trailrider envelope to your manager or coach who will pass it onto the treasurer of the Trail  Minor Hockey Executive -. DO NOT LEAVE IT IN THE ARENA OFFICE.
12.Return unsold tickets and buckets to the filing cabinet for the next game.
